Frequently Asked Questions
We have always encouraged our festival attendees to bring small amounts of food and beverages to our event while enjoying the music. It is part of what makes our festival experience really unique and gives it a cool “vibe.” However, please limit the size of the coolers and the amount of food items you bring to the festival. We highly encourage you instead to patronize the restaurants at The Preserve. They are there for YOU!
What time does the festival start?
Gates open at 11 am and the first act goes on at approximately 1 pm.
How many bands perform throughout the event?
We have traditionally had 5-6 bands throughout the entire day with roughly :30 minutes between sets.
What are the average temperatures in Alabama for September?
Our average highs are in the low to mid 80’s with lows in the mid 60’s.
Are pets allowed?
No. The only pets allowed are certified service dogs.
This is my first time attending the festival, what can I bring?
The Festival is an outdoor event, so you never know what type of weather to expect. Prepare for anything. Remember to pack your own seating, blankets, candles/lighting/flashlights for after dark, sunglasses/sunscreen, binoculars, insect repellent, umbrellas, etc.
May I bring my own cooler?
Yes. Small coolers are allowed. Large coolers are NOT allowed. If you have a large cooler, a festival staff member may ask you to return it your vehicle.
May I buy beer and/or wine at the festival?
Yes. Both restaurants at The Preserve sell/serve beer, wine and mixed drinks. We also allow festival attendees to bring their own adult beverages. The Festival is not liable for the actions of any person that consumes alcohol, so please drink responsibly.
May I buy food at the festival?
Absolutely! Both restaurants (Vecchia and The Boot) will be open the day of our event offering a wide variety of great eats for our festival guests. There will also be nonalcoholic beverage vendors on site.
May I bring a picnic basket?
Sure. But remember our food & beverage partners on site, too.
Is there seating available?
No. The event is hosted in a beautiful 10 acre park. All tickets are general admission and guests are encouraged to bring portable chairs, tables and blankets for your comfort while enjoying the music.
Is handicapped seating available?
Yes. Volunteers will be on hand at Will Call/Entrance for individuals needing assistance.
What if it rains?
The festival is a “Rain or Shine” event. Unless severe weather presents a danger to the artists or guests, every act that can perform, will perform! There will be NO refunds due to inclimate weather.
May I bring an umbrella, tent or canopy to block the sun or rain?
We do allow small umbrellas. Our house rule is “umbrellas up when there is no music and umbrellas down once the music begins .” We do this so that each guest who bought a ticket can see the stage and enjoy the performances. Absolutely NO tents or canopies are allowed unless you purchase a Rent-A Tent package.
Is there a discount ticket price for children?
Kids under 10 are admitted free.
Are credit/debit cards accepted at the festival?
Yes. Tickets may be purchased with cash or credit/debit cards the day of the festival. All vendors typically accept cash or credit cards.
Where do I park?
We have on-site parking along Preserve Parkway, at Simmons Middle School, Gwin Elementary and at the tennis courts across the street from Gwin. Shuttle buses will be running throughout the day picking up and dropping off attendees.
Is VIP parking available?
Yes. For a small fee of only, $20. VIP Parking may be purchased online along with festival tickets.
Are pass outs allowed?
If you have to leave (i.e. go retrieve something from your vehicle) and reenter our event, please make sure you get your hand stamped and/or an armband at the gate. If not, you WON’T be allowed back in the event without purchasing an additional ticket.
