FAQ and a Special Note Regarding Sloss Furnaces
We have always encouraged our festival attendees to bring small amounts of food and beverages to our event while enjoying the music. It is part of what makes our festival experience really unique. However, please limit the size of the coolers and the amount of food items you bring to the festival. We highly encourage you instead to patronize the great food and beverage vendors on site! They are there for YOU!
A. The Preserve Jazz Festival is an outdoor event. Remember to bring your own seating/blankets, candles/lighting for after dark, sunglasses/sunscreen, binoculars, insect repellent, etc. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO CITY PROPERTY - however, alcoholic beverages may be purchased at event.
Q. This is my first time coming to the festival. What can I bring?
A. Yes. Small coolers are allowed/encouraged. Large coolers are NOT allowed. If you have a large cooler, a festival staff member may ask you to return it your vehicle. There will be both nonalcoholic & alcholic beverages available for sale by our great Food & Beverage vendors.
Q. May I bring a cooler?
A. Yes. Alcoholic beverages cannot be BROUGHT onto a city owned property... but YOU MAY PURCHASE BEER & WINE AT THE EVENT. The Preserve Jazz Festival is not liable for the actions of any person that consumes alcohol. Please consume responsibly.
Q. May I buy beer and/or wine at the festival?
A. Absolutely! Numerous Food & Beverage vendors will be on site providing a wide variety of great eats for our guests.
Q. May I buy food at the festival?
A. Yes! But remember our Food & Beverage vendors on site to serve the needs of our guests and add quality to the event.
Q. May I bring a picnic lunch?
A. Yes! We offer a VERY limited number of tickets for the Lexus Platinum VIP Experience available for sale online ONLY. These ticket packages are available on a “first come – first served” basis and roughly 100 will be sold. See the VIP tab on our Home page for more details on this package.
Q. Is there VIP or reserved seating?
A. No. Guests are encouraged to bring portable chairs and blankets for your comfort while enjoying the music.
Q. Is there seating available?
A. Yes. Volunteers will be on hand at the Will Call/The Entrance for individuals needing assistance.
Q. Is handicapped seating available?
A. No need to worry as our main stage is NOW covered. The festival is a Rain or Shine event. Unless really severe weather presents a danger to the artists or guests, every act that can perform, will perform. There are no refunds for inclimate weather.
Q. What if it rains?
A. Really no need to do so anymore with our covered stage area. We are allowing umbrellas to block the elements. However, when the artists go on stage for their performance, all umbrellas MUST come down for the duration of that performance so that each person can see the stage. Absolutely NO tents or canopies are allowed.
Q. May I bring an umbrella, tent or canopy to block the sun?
A. All children under the age of 12 are admitted free.
Q. Is there a discount ticket price for children?
A. Yes. Tickets may be purchased with cash or credit/debit cards in advance or on the day of the festival. All vendor purchases are CASH ONLY on the day of the event.
Q. Are credit/debit cards accepted at the festival?
A. There is a Directions tab located on our website with the festival address and a map. We have on-site parking only a few hundred feet from the festival entrance.
Q. How do I get to the Preserve Jazz Festival? Where do I park?
A. If you have to leave (i.e. go retrieve something from your vehicle) and reenter our event, please make sure you get your hand stamped and/or an armband at the gate. If not, you WON’T be allowed back in the event without purchasing an additional ticket.
Q. Are pass outs allowed?
A. Gates open at Noon and the first act goes on at approximately 1:00 PM.
Q. What time does the festival start?
A. We have added 2-3 additional artists. We have traditionally had 5 bands, but this year we have 6-8.
Q. How many bands or acts do you have performing?
A. No. Pets are not allowed at our event.
